Greek restaurant ‘coming soon’ as Spanish tapas bar closes in Glasgow

A Greek restaurant is coming to the city’s West End in the site of a former Spanish tapas bar.

Santorini is “coming soon” to Argyle Street in a unit that was previously occupied by Rioja, which recently closed.

Branding and signage for Santorini are now in place, with the frontage also painted blue.

A website for the new eatery states: “We’re working hard behind the scenes to bring a taste of Greece, to the heart of Glasgow.”

Glasgow World reports the greek-inspired Finnieston venue will be opened later this month by Glasgow-based C&C Restaurant Group.

The group have already had success with Greek cuisine at their two Halloumi restaurants on Hope Street and Pollokshaws Road and with Gyros on Byres Road.
