Indoor Family Amusement Park Opens in Elm Ridge Center in Greece

Another business has opened in the transformed Elm Ridge Center on West Ridge Road in Greece. Nova Trampoline Park is operating in a portion of an old Tops Friendly Markets space. Dubbed an indoor family amusement park for all ages, the 45,000-square-foot attraction has trampolines, dodgeball and basketball courts, a zip line, a climbing wall, foam pits, ninja warrior and rope courses, a parkour area, arcade games and a virtual reality ride.

A national chain, Nova has locations mostly along the East Coast; the one in Greece is its first in New York state, said training manager Shamella Bacchus. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets for people taller than 42 inches (3½ feet) range from $19 for an hour to $35 for three hours. Toddler pricing (for children under 42 inches) ranges from $13 an hour to $24 for three hours. Jump socks ($3.50) are required. There are areas just for toddlers, and the business also hosts parties.

Bacchus said the place has been busy since opening Nov. 9. “Over the weekend, we were really busy,” she said, “and we already have 20 birthday parties booked, so I think we’re going to do pretty great here.” Wegman Companies, a local real estate development firm unrelated to the grocery store chain, redeveloped the plaza, which is about 3 miles west of The Mall at Greece Ridge and in 2019 was on the brink of extinction.

It now is near full occupancy, and other tenants include Italian restaurant Cotoletta, retailers Goods Galore Overstock and Fastlane Apparel & Accessories, and Paneffort, which makes personal protective equipment. Jay Wegman, vice president of operations for Wegman Companies, was at the trampoline park last weekend and echoed what Bacchus said about how busy it was.

“It was a good mix of ages,” he said. “You had toddlers in the toddler areas and seniors on the virtual reality ride. You had teenagers jumping on the trampolines, and you had parents getting involved as well.”
