International Traffic at Greek Airports Will Be More Than 2019

International traffic at Greek airports has recorded higher rates than in 2019 based on the number of passengers and international flights, as they have so far been formed for the first quarter of 2023, even if the numbers, due to the low season, are small.

Both at the country’s largest airport, Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” International Airport, and at the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece, total passenger traffic for the first, traditionally weaker, quarter of the year, in terms of foreign network, moves higher compared to the pre-pandemic period.

An interesting fact, especially for Spata airport, is the fact that between January and March 2023 traffic numbers from non-European airports have increased by double digits compared to the pre-pandemic period in 2019, one of the requested of Greek tourism, where the lion’s share is consistently held by European markets.
